This is me in a nutshell—
quiet, introvert, homebody;
minimalist, frugal;
introspective, patient, unhurried;
secular and spiritually inclined.
These extend into —
Enjoying one-on-one exchanges —
thoughtful and warm
over chatty group talks
and mindless socialising.
Choosing silence
because it takes me time
to open up; and
allows me to listen and
observe.
Abhorring social media —
noisy, nosy,
ostentatious.
Taking pleasure in alone time
that frees the mind
and freezes everything else.
Finding refuge in libraries —
one of the very few places
I find truly interesting.
Enjoying less of online platforms
after realising that
most of their content is junk
and offers no value to me.
Disliking shopping,
though sometimes
I have no choice.
Despising TV and news
that promote marketing crap,
crime, hatred,
dirty politics
and insignificant affairs.
Reading slowly,
with self-reflection —
drawn to philosophy, spirituality,
mythology, psychology,
literature, sci-fi
and anything that stirs curiosity.
Emphasising needs
over manufactured desires.
Learning gardening —
growing life,
appreciating nature.
Preferring home-cooked food
and eating out only
once in a while.
Believing that our bodies
can self-heal
when not abused and
given the right conditions.
Not an avid traveller —
hating the management part the most:
bookings, plans, research.
Going to that length,
I'd rather not travel
or let others handle these tasks.
Travel is fun
but often mundane,
overhyped
and tiring.
But when I travel,
I focus on local experiences
over touristy glow.
Loving the gentle morning
breeze and sunlight —
a tonic for freshening up.
