Is it Really Worth Living a Long Life?

How long is a piece of string?
How long is a long life?

How short is a piece of string?
How short is a short life?

When do our cravings end?
Do they end while we are still young?
Do they go past our mid-life crisis?
Do they continue beyond a lifetime?
Do they continue in a linear fashion —
beginning at birth and ending when we perish?
Do they go around in cycles —
travelling endlessly through eons of time?

Can we intervene?
Can we draw our own destiny?
Do we resort to our fate?

Is it the will of
God,
the Divine Power,
the Omnipresent,
the Omnipotent,
the Omniscient,
the Unseen,
the Invisible,
the Unexplained,
the Unexplainable,
the Inexplicable,
the Unknown,
the Unknowable,
the Unnamed,
the Unnamable,
the Untasted,
the Untastable,
the Untested,
the Untestable,
the Unheard,
the Unhearable,
the Unfelt,
the Unfeelable,
the Untouched,
the Untouchable,
the Unreached,
the Unreachable,
the Uncreated,
the Uncreatable,
the Undestroyed,
the Undestroyable,
the Unmeasured,
the Unmeasurable,
the Unreal,
the Mystical,
the Nonexistent,
the Creation,
the Nothingness,
the Fullness, or
the Way?

How many long lives have held a beacon to guide themselves?
Have many long lives have found the Way?
How many long lives have deciphered the Unknown?
How many long lives have succeeded in narrowing the dichotomy?
How many long lives have unified the right and wrong to dissolve the extremes?
Can a short life be long enough —
just as the length of the string is unknown?
So, is it really worth living a long life?
