Facing the Oddness

A wave extended
a little further
as eyes met

The same face
but it felt different—
more depth
and closeness

As both kept looking—
the smiles slowly
slipped away

Seen for the first time—
the face
without a smile

Lips straightened—
serious,
calmness carried on

A lion proceeds slowly
towards the lioness—
his rugged face longing to rub
gently against her cheeks

The entrapped heat
waiting for this moment—
finally infused

Both not smiling—
heartbeats
more pronounced,
each could hear their own

Two creatures—
graceful,
lovely and
beautiful

Facing the oddness—
the moment
paused into stillness
