ticking way faster
It feels like
we’ve known each other—
though only a short time
Will we end up
like boiling water
on high heat—
evaporating quickly?
I wonder
if we turn into vapour—
unseen, unknown,
back to strangers
Or will we rise
like steam—
climbing new heights
beyond our lonely selves?
I wonder
what we might become—
finding ourselves
swimming deeper
into our souls
