In My Own Language

I want to
go past barriers,
jump the fence

I want to
rise above words,
skip misinterpretation

I want to
see beyond language—
what cannot be expressed

I want to
touch the core,
and remain still
in that solitude

I want to feel
as I have never felt

When a chord strikes,
connection forms—
everything dissolves,
goes beyond

All because
I am less expressive
in ordinary ways

So I express
in my own language—
invisible,
untouched,
beyond
