Our Hearts in Place

As you stand in the corner
looking at me—
you call me
with your silence

I enter into your room
without being there—
lying next to you
all night long

My hands remain tight
my eyes closed
my skin too far to feel you

Yet my heart touches you
at places my senses
unable to reach

If we went deaf
and the world went silent
we’d still find each other
with our hearts in place
