The sun has disappeared
in the war with machines
waiting for the light
The sun made a conscious choice
hiding behind the night
Sky without the sun—
lightless ambience
for the man and the machine
Birds don’t sing
like they would before
Fragrance of jasmine
stagnates in this transience
Who is human and
who is humanoid—
it feels like 2035
and there’s no sunlight
The body doesn’t know itself
the organs aren’t its kin anymore
Thoughts slowly synthesised—
pills and drugs
keeping us mechanised
So we ache
we cry and
we scream
Madness everywhere—
stressed and
burnt-out
yet we seek to be
productive
The cycle goes on—
some want to reach high
others climb
to escape their lives
Blinded by our misery
we keep seeking more—
we’re promised paradise
by the new-found religion
Machines were made
to ease our lives—
yet the humans have become
the machines themselves
Everything redefined—
freedom
thoughts
expectations
and even love
and emotions
Pleasure mistaken
for happiness—
keep running
the chase never ceases
This has now become
a new normal
as the normal has
lost its true meaning
Nature waits
for us to come home
but we’ve lost our ways
deep into the darkness
It’s getting too late
to start finding the sun
hidden behind the night
